St Austell takes its name from the Cornish "Saint Austol".  It is not mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086), but first appeared in writing in the mid-12th century. Exciting updates with our beautiful fishing lakes... We are pleased to share that we have been working hard to improve our beautiful fishing lakes and make them an even better experience for our visitors! We have had plenty of new, healthy Carp that has been introduced to lake 2 and 3, which join the existing stocks of Carp, Perch, Tench, Bream and Rudd.
