We’ve collected some top tips for making your journey as trouble-free as possible. Collar and Name Tag It’s a good idea to get a second name tag made with your address engraved, just in case your pet decides to go for a lone adventure – this will ensure that you’ll be reunited in no time. Lead We know that your pets are incredibly important to you, which is why you should always have a lead handy to keep them close by. Some walking destinations will also require furry friends to be kept on leads whilst walking. Basket Our luxury holiday homes offer everything you could need to ensure your stay is completely tailored to you. Make sure your four-legged friend receives the same five-star treatment by bringing their bed or basket – this will help them to settle and they will certainly need lots of sleep after all the new walks! Travel Water Bowl Just like us, your pets need to stay hydrated whilst exploring their exciting new surroundings – be sure to pack a collapsible travel bowl in your bag, alongside a bottle of water to fill it with – so your pets can enjoy a quick drink during long walks and car journeys. Towels & Shampoo With an abundance of excellent walking trails surrounding our park, your furry friends are bound to get a little muddy in those wet winter months. Pack an old towel and pop it by the door, so you can easily wipe clean any dirty paws. Medication and First Aid Make sure that you are prepared for any accidents or injuries that can easily be dealt with, and of course any medication your dog needs. Our Pet Rules Our park is a great place for your pet to explore, with its natural countryside and wildlife, but we do have a few rules that we kindly ask dog owners to adhere to: Dogs can be walked, on a lead, anywhere in the park except in the animal enclosure area. Please do not leave your dog alone in either your accommodation or in your tent or caravan. We have a large dog exercise field and your dog can be let off the lead and enjoy some freedom anywhere in this field. Please ask at reception for details of the dog-friendly beaches nearby. Owners are responsible for cleaning after their dogs and dog waste bins are provided. Our Pet Policy It is our policy that pets should not be left on their own during their stay with us; so if you wish to visit a location where pets are not allowed, such as some beaches, gardens, country houses and evening dining then please contact Creusa Kennels and Cattery on 01208 831291 or at www.creusakennels.co.uk to arrange day or overnight boarding. Meadow Lakes accepts no responsibility for incidents or accidents that occur whilst your pet is boarding with Creusa Kennels and Cattery. It is your responsibility to assure yourself as to the fitness of the facilities and staff to accommodate your pet. All animals are covered by Creusa’s comprehensive health insurance policy whilst they stay there so there will be No Veterinary Bills for clients to pay should their pet require veterinary attention whilst under their care. BOOK NOWFrequently Asked Questions about Pet Friendly Accommodation in CornwallWhich Accommodation will be Suitable for my Dog? We offer dog friendly caravans, cottages and lodges and our camping and touring areas also welcome dogs. So, whichever type of holiday you prefer, with Meadow Lakes we have something to suit everyone (and your pooches). Are There any Dog Friendly Beaches Near By? There are a few beaches where dogs are allowed, but only before 7am or 8am and after 7pm, which can be nice in the evening, but we don’t know about you but if we wait to take the dogs for a walk until after 7pm, they’ll be bouncing off the walls and driving us crazy!! So below are some of our favourite beaches that do allow dogs all year round at any time! Holywell bay – Holywell Bay is a vast expanse of sandy fun for dogs at low tide! It has masses of sand dunes for them to run up and down, caves and rock stacks to explore, and even a little stream for them to splash in and keep cool too. Mexico Towans – This is a very confusing sliver of beach between Hayle and Gwithian (both of which have seasonal dog ban), which is accessible through the dunes near the holiday parks. Mawgan Porth – Mawgan Porth is located in Newquay; it’s super dog friendly and the beach is HUGE at low tide, there is also a little stream that runs down to the sea for dogs to play in. This beach could get busy in peak seasons. Grebe Beach – Most people know this as Durgan beach, but it is actually called Grebe and is next to the actual Durgan beach. At low to mid-tide there’s a beautiful little pebble beach that’s great for BBQ’s and relaxed/quite summer afternoons and is also a great place for the dogs to chase sticks and go swimming too. Perranporth – Perranporth has to be one of Cornwall’s largest/longest beaches, so it’s great that it is dog friendly all year round! There are loads of dunes to explore once again, and just so much wide-open space. There’s also The Watering Hole, Perranporth’s beach bar on the sand dunes, which is dog friendly too where you can relax and grab a drink or bite to eat. Again, it gets super busy in summer so stick to early morning or late afternoon if you want more space! Are there Different types of Accommodation Equipped with Everything? We cater to all type of holidays and at Meadow lakes our caravans, cottages, lodges, camping pods and cabins are not just located in the perfect location, a stone’s throw away from all of our brilliant attractions. Depending on which option you choose, our accommodation is equipped with everything you should need for you and your dog to enjoy a brilliant holiday.
